Small Business Saturday, November 29th
At First Community Bank, we’ve always believed in showing up for our hometown—whether that’s cheering on the home team or supporting the businesses that make our community special.
Back in 2016, we partnered with American Express and became a Neighborhood Champion to help rally our neighbors around shopping local on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. First comes Black Friday, then comes Small Business Saturday—a day that’s all about celebrating the heart of our community. What started with just 30 local shops has grown to over 100 last year, including Bell Buckle, Lynchburg, and Wartrace. It’s been incredible to see how much this day has grown—and we like to think we’ve helped make a small difference for the small businesses that make our towns thrive.
So what’s happening this year?
If you’ve joined in before, you already know—it’s one of the most fun days of the year to get out, shop, and support local. On Saturday, November 29th, stop by the FCB tent on the courthouse lawn or any participating business to grab your punch card. Every time you make a purchase, get your card marked—and each punch earns you an entry into our drawing for two $200 gift certificates good at any of the participating shops.
And that's not all - Santa will be visiting us on the square from 3:00-5:00. Bring the kids for pictures and some holiday cheer before heading to the next stop on your shopping list.
Then, after a full day of shopping and celebrating local, we’re keeping the fun going with a Small Business Saturday Movie Night at the Shelbyville Capri Theater! Enjoy a free Coke, popcorn, and a night out at the movies—on us.*
We can’t wait to see everyone out and about supporting the local businesses that keep our communities strong.
*Featuring Zootopia 2 (Rated PG)
