As a local community bank, First Community Bank makes every effort to put the needs of our community first.  We are active participants in our community in many ways including sponsoring ball teams of all kinds; supporting and sponsoring local events and fundraisers; and encouraging our employees in their community service activities.  Below is a list of several of the organizations that we support.

Boys & Girls Club of Bedford County

Jim Troupe serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors

Conswella Johnson serves on the Board of Directors

The primary goal of the Boys & Girls Club is to enable all young people, especially those who need us most to reach their full potential as productive, caring and responsible citizens.  The Club provides the following:

  • Dedicated Facilities (safe havens that provide an opportunity to learn & grow)
  • Open daily after school (in the morning where warranted)
  • Professional Staff (trained, caring, positive Youth Development Professionals serving as role models & mentors)
  • Available & Affordable to All (no child is denied membership because of inability to pay)

Mr. Troupe and Mrs. Johnson provide financial advice while serving on the Board of Directors of this organization.  The Club provides services to all families regardless of their ability to pay.

The bank employees participated in a canned food drive the local Boys and Girls club is doing for a service project. Our employee Jim Troupe is involved with this group, so we decided to have a little fun and challenged employees to “Can Jim Troupe.”
