Community First at FCB
As a local community bank, First Community Bank makes every effort to put the needs of our community first. We are active participants in our community in many ways including sponsoring ball teams of all kinds; supporting and sponsoring local events and fundraisers; and encouraging our employees in their community service activities. Below is a list of several of the organizations that we support.
United Way of Bedford County
Kayla Hilliard serves on the Board of Directors and as Allocations Chairperson.
United Way of Bedford County (UWBC) provides resources to health and human service agencies, reaching people from all walks of life and income groups. The United Way Office is located in the FCB Annex Building and FCB is proud to be able to donate/provide this space to such a worthy organization.
Ms. Hilliard serves on the Board of this charity and uses her financial skills to help fundraise, and then budget the monies and resources received.
Bedford Cancer Foundation Inc.
Barbara Pate serves as Secretary of the Board of Directors and the Co-Chair of the Audit Committee
The Bedford Cancer Foundation is a tax-exempt, charitable organization that is a volunteer and membership-based foundation that enables people to easily and effectively support funding for cancer patients who are residents of Bedford County, TN. The Foundation assists and supports cancer patients undergoing treatment.
Ms. Pate provides financial expertise as Co-Chair of the Audit Committee by reviewing financials and helps in fundraising by serving on the Publicity committee, in addition to her secretarial duties.
Homes of Hope of Bedford County, Inc.
FCB sponsors and participates with Table Captains and any other Homes of Hope fundraisers. Also, the Homes of Hope Office is located in the FCB Annex Building and FCB is proud to be able to donate/provide this space to such another worthy organization.
Homes of Hope exists to assist families in crisis by providing a safe, nurturing and Christ-centered home for their children and to offer hope through a relationship with Jesus Christ.
First Choice Pregnancy Counseling Center
Kayla Hilliard serves on the Board of Directors.
The First Choice Pregnancy Counseling Center is a tax-exempt, charitable organization that relies on donations and fundraising for their income. The center offers the following services free of charge: pregnancy tests, confidential counseling, abortion information, physician referrals, adoption referrals, STD information, ultrasounds, baby needs, parenting classes, post-abortion help & healing, and abstinence materials. The Center also provides, free of charge, classes at all Bedford County schools teaching children about abstinence and STD's. This is contracted through the Bedford County Board of Education.
Ms. Hilliard shares her financial knowledge by helping the BOD and the Director of the center with general oversight, reviewing the monthly financials, annual budgeting and in fundraising efforts.
